Any Dazzle that is 100+ cannot use any other program apart from pinnacle studio 10 (and up), since it records in Mpeg format. The older dazzles, on the other hand, could because they recorded in avi which was perfect for programs like virtualdub.
I couldn't get windows media encoder working with my Dazzle DVC 170 So yes, the best solution is to record in pinnacle studio, and then do the encoding in another program such as sony vegas, xilisoft, or virtualdub. You may have to convert your mp4's to avi's before the encoding/compressing process.

To uninstall driver follow below steps. Press Windows + X, click on Device Manager. Expand Sound, video and game controller, right click on device and click Uninstall. Ane the VSH player my have been turned on during the restart. Now I'm hesitant to unplug anything. I'm not sure if I am getting the best resolution of the transferred data. I know VHS was grainy to start with. Free typing software download for mac. But my Hi8 takes should seem to me to be a little more sharper. I just miss my IEEE hot wire method that worked great on the old VISTA machine.
